Methodist University Cross Country and Track & Field Fundraiser
The week of Sunday, May 17th to Saturday, May 23rd, Coach Brunecz will be completing a 24-Hour Run to raise funds for the Methodist University Cross Country and Track & Field programs, as well as for the Methodist University Rapid Response Fund. All funds raised will be split between those three areas. As challenging as this event will be to complete, the logistics are very simple. Coach Brunecz will run as many miles as he can within the designated 24-hour time frame. That time frame will be determined within the week noted above based on ideal and safe weather conditions. If you would like to make a donation, you can do so in one of the following ways. You can donate a flat amount prior to the event or you can email Coach Brunecz at jbrunecz@methodist.edu prior to the event and declare a certain amount of cents or dollars you will donate per mile that is completed. Please keep in mind that Coach Brunecz’s goal is to surpass 110 miles. Those who donate per mile, Coach Brunecz will contact you after the event with the proper documentation to let you know what your donation will be. The mileage completed will be documented through the running apps of Strava and Garmin Connect.
All proceeds will be used in the following manner:
- Cross country donations will go toward new uniforms and logistical fees to travel to high profile meets out-of-state that will bring out the best in our Monarchs.
- Track & field donations will go toward purchasing new equipment to best help us recruit/perform at the highest level in all track & field disciplines. In particular, we are in need of equipment pertaining to: higher quality throwing implements for our advanced throwers, all pole vault equipment, and steeplechase barriers.
- Methodist University Rapid Response Fund donations will go toward supporting our students due to unforeseen circumstances, such as with COVID-19, Hurricane Matthew, and Hurricane Florence that have presented financial challenges for some of our students over the past few years. We want to be as best prepared as we can for our students with similar future situations.
A tax-deductible donation of any amount is greatly appreciated. Please consider giving back to the Methodist University community.
