Shelton Leadership Camp

The General Shelton Leadership Camp is a six-day, five-night residential leadership development program limited to 30 outstanding high school-age youth.
Campers participate in intensive self-evaluation, explore leadership concepts in experiential learning activities, and rotate through team leadership positions to practice as they learn. Highlights of the week include the MU ROTC Challenge Course, Camp Rockfish high ropes course, and a service project in the community. Campers work together all week on a 10-person team, taught by adult professional Instructors and guided by university-age Counselors/Mentors/Trainers.
The Shelton Camp is led by Dr. Eugenia Johnson, a management professor at MU’s Reeves School of Business. The camp is a key outreach program of the Tally Leadership Center, Dr. Mark Regensburger, Director. The curriculum for the program has been refined for more than 20 years by the Shelton Leadership Center at North Carolina State University. Methodist University is one of only two locations authorized to deliver this program independently.
